Membership of Eurocarers

Eurocarers brings together carers' organisations and relevant research & development organisations.  These organisations may function at the EU, national, or sub-national or regional levels (  depending on the structures of national health and social service systems )
The Association has three membership categories:

  1. full members (Note: Full members have voting rights)
  2. associate members
  3. observer members

Full members must:

  • be located within the EU
  • have a predominant interest in the advancement of informal care
  • have a European or national remit, or, depending on the structures of national health and social service systems, a sub-national or regional remit
  • be not-for-profit
  • be legally constituted according to the laws and usages of the country in which they are established
  • adhere to the Association's statutes

Associate members

Interested organisations that do not meet the criteria listed above can become associate members.

Observer members

Interested individuals can become observer members.

Other categories

Recognising the work of some disease-specific organisations (e.g. Alzheimer's Disease) as well as the fact that some national carers organisations may focus on a particular group of carers or carers' issues only, these organisations are invited to become (full) members of the Association, provided they acknowledge its broader remit.

(European) NGOs may also have a keen interest in carers' issues and the enhancement of carers' interests; these organisations are welcome to join as members of Eurocarers.
