Eurocarers brings together carers' organisations and relevant research & development organisations. These organisations may function at the EU, national, or - depending on the structures of national health and social service systems- sub-national or regional levels. The Association has three membership categories:
Interested organisations that do not meet the criteria listed above can become associate members.
Interested individuals can become observer members.
Recognising the work of some disease-specific organisations (e.g. Alzheimer's Disease) as well as the fact that some national carers organisations may focus on a particular group of carers or carers' issues only, these organisations are invited to become (full) members of the Association, provided they acknowledge its broader remit.
(European) NGOs may also have a keen interest in carers' issues and the enhancement of carers' interests; these organisations are welcome to join as members of Eurocarers.
