EUROCARERS est le réseau européen qui représente les aidants informels ainsi que leurs organisations, quel que soit leur âge ou les problèmes de santé de la personne dont ils prennent soin.

L’objectif d’EUROCARERS est de faire progresser le statut des aidants informels et de contribuer à leur reconnaissance tant au niveau européen que national.

Nos activités visent donc à:

  1. Sensibiliser à l’importante contribution des aidants aux systèmes sociaux et de soins de santé ainsi qu’à l’économie, et à la nécessité de préserver cette contribution;
  2. Assurer que les politiques nationales et de l’UE prennent en compte l’intérêt des aidants, c.-à-d. promeuvent leur inclusion sociale, le développement de services de soutien leur étant destinés, leur permettent de garder une vie professionnelle active et rémunérée ainsi qu’une vie sociale.

Eurocarers définit un aidant informel comme une personne qui prodigue des soins non rémunérés à une personne souffrant d’une maladie chronique, d’un handicap ou tout autre besoin de santé, et ce en dehors d’un contexte formel ou professionnel.
