On the 6th and 7th May, Eurocarers organised an EU event as part of the Innovage project in order to present and fine-tune its newly-created online information hub on informal care – InformCare.
InformCare provides key information on the rights and entitlements of carers in Europe and advice on how to best deliver and cope with caregiving activities. The platform also offers a variety of interactive communication tools to encourage peer to peer support and the exchange of experience and good practices. The platform actually goes beyond the scope of carers themselves as it also offers information targeted at care professionals and employers in a selection of countries on how to best support carers.
The event brought together more than 80 national and regional representatives from across Europe (carers, care professionals and employers) – i.e. users - as well as relevant EU stakeholders. Beyond the presentation of the InformCare platform, the event provided an opportunity to discuss and exchange on the Commission’s plans and approach towards the future of Long-Term Care in Europe and, within that, the role and needs of informal carers.
